Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba, a former Minister of State for Education and presidential candidate, has responded to President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to name his chosen successor.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, President Buhari has asked the APC governors to allow him to choose his chosen successor ahead of the party’s presidential primaries on June 6.
On Tuesday, Buhari made the appeal at a meeting with governors and the party’s national chairman at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

During the meeting, President Buhari also urged APC governors to make decisions that would allow the party to stay in office.
He promised the governors that the consultation process would continue up till the convention, ensuring that all candidates and stakeholders were included.
Reacting to the development, Nwajuiba stated that Buhari only asked the governors to support his plan to choose his successor and not impose any candidate.
He stated, “The President said, ‘Support me to choose my successor,’ not that he said he was going to impose a candidate.”
