Tragedy struck in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, as a church building belonging to Dunamis International Gospel Centre, located in Mission Ward North Bank, collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3. Sadly, a pastor lost his life in the incident.
Reports indicate that the pastor, along with a few others, was inside the church building, and engaged in prayers when the structure unexpectedly gave way. Fortunately, three other individuals who were present on the church premises at the time managed to escape the collapsing building, albeit shaken by the ordeal.
The impact of the building collapse extended beyond the church itself. Nearby residential buildings and elements of the local electricity infrastructure were also affected by the incident.
