After his 3-year-old kid shot and killed his mother, a 23-year-old Chicago father is on the verge of going to jail.
According to reports, Romell Watson and his 22-year-old wife, Dejah Bennett, were in their car when their toddler discovered a revolver in the trunk and aimed it at his mother.
When the event occurred, the family was simply sitting inside their car in a parking lot in south suburban Dolton.

After picking up the rifle, the youngster apparently pointed it at his mother and accidentally squeezed the trigger, hitting her in the neck.
Following the incident, the boy’s father is now facing a misdemeanor firearms charge, according to the community’s police chief in a report dated Monday, March 14.
According to accounts, the incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
“He got his hands on the pistol and started playing with it, pointing it and firing the shot,” Police Chief Collins said.
“A gunshot struck Bennett in the neck, the chief claimed,” he said. She was sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center and declared dead.”

Watson, who was held after the incident, will be charged with unauthorized use of a firearm, according to Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins Jr.
