Odera Onumajulu, an Imo State court inspector who was shot by her abductor, died as a result of her wounds.
The lawyer died on Thursday in Owerri, according to ANAEDOONLINE’s confirmation from the Nigeria Bar Association’s Owerri branch.
In Owerri on May 22, Onumajulu was kidnapped and shot; he passed away on Wednesday.
The victim was an Inspector for the Customary Court until she passed away. After medical staff tried for a month to save her life, she passed away on Wednesday night.
The gunmen who kidnapped her in front of her house shot her before letting her go.
The Secretary of NBA, Owerri branch, Chinedu Agu, said that the branch was saddened by the death of the female lawyer.

He said “the deceased lawyer died on Wednesday after she suffered a gunshot injury from dare-devil kidnappers who abducted her on May 22 in front of her house.
“Before the ugly incident, Onumajulu was a Customary Court Inspector attached to the Customary Court of Appeal (CCA) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016.
“It is very sad how another colleague has become a victim of the ravaging insecurity in Imo.
“We extend our condolences to both her family and extended members of the family,” he said.
