Anthony Ayalogu, a controller with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), is said to have fallen yesterday at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and passed away.
According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the deceased, who oversaw the NCS’s Trade Facilitation Unit, was in good health up until his Tuesday arrival at the airport, when he unexpectedly fell unwell.
According to reports, when Ayalogu first slumped, he was promptly sent to the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Kano. Unfortunately, after a few minutes, he was declared dead.

Ayalogu was “in transit on an official assignment when he unexpectedly became ill upon arrival at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and lost consciousness,” according to a statement from the Customs Public Relations Unit, AA Maiwada.
“All efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful as he was pronounced dead at 2020 hours on Monday, 17th October 2022 at 465 Nigerian Airforce Hospital Kano. He was aged 57.”
According to Maiwada, the Comptroller-General of Customs Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), while commiserating with the family and friends of Ayalogu, said the deceased will be sorely missed.
“We pray God grants the Ayalogu family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Ali was quoted as saying.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the deceased was a native of Anambra State’s Onitsha North Local Government Area.
Ayalogu, a Cadet Assistant Superintendent who joined the NCS on September 24, 1991, reportedly held a Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
