Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, has provided insights into why the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, produced at his refinery appears clearer than the fuel currently available in the market. Speaking during a broadcast from his refinery in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, Dangote highlighted the environmental and health benefits of this new petrol, which stands out due to its clarity.
According to Dangote, the clearer petrol is designed to be more environmentally friendly and could significantly reduce the health risks associated with the polluted petroleum products that are currently in circulation. He explained that this refined petrol would also offer better protection for engines, preventing the damage often caused by the lower-quality fuel commonly found in the market. “This is the sample of the petrol. You see it as a different colour, but that is the real deal. You are now going to have a good and real product,” Dangote assured.
In addition to discussing the petrol, Dangote also introduced a new type of diesel, noting that Nigerians are likely unfamiliar with its distinct color. He referred to it as Euro-5 diesel, a product with less than 10 parts per million (PPM) of sulfur, which is significantly lower than what is typically available. Dangote emphasized that this diesel would enhance the longevity of vehicles, engines, and generators. “The health of the people and the environment will not be compromised. This is the real deal,” he added, underscoring the commitment to quality and safety in the products coming out of his refinery.
