David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, has secured the All Progressives Congress’s Ebonyi South senatorial ticket.
In the re-run primary, Umahi secured the APC senatorial ticket.
This comes after Umahi was defeated in the governing party’s presidential primary, which was won by Bola Tinubu, the party’s National Leader.
Austin Umahi, the governor’s younger brother, was elected to the ruling party’s senatorial ticket two weeks ago.

The APC canceled the primary poll conducted last week and rescheduled it for Thursday night after the Ebonyi State Governor lost the party’s presidential ticket.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Umahi secured the APC’s ticket in the Afikpo North Local Government Council’s postponed primary election.
In other events, the governing party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, paid a visit to Umahi in the early hours of Thursday.
The former Lagos State Governor’s visit comes after he paid a visit to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja.

Tinubu’s visit to Ebonyi State Governor is part of a larger effort to reconcile all presidential candidates who lost to him in the governing party’s just finished presidential primary.
