Uzu Okagbue, frontline aspirant for Anambra Central Senatorial Seat on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance – APGA, has intensified consultation for his senatorial aspiration. The campaign anchored firmly on quality and credible representation of Anambra Central district, has taken the message of a promise of distinctive representation to more Anambra Central stakeholders who are enthused by the preparedness and willingness of the aspirant to deliver in a new and interesting way, when given the mandate by the people.
The Campaign has appointed Ebuka Onyekwelu, senior writer and columnist with the West African Pilot News, as its Director of Media and Spokesman. Mr. Onyekwelu is an experienced political specialist and seasoned media practitioner of over seven years. Speaking on his appointment, Ebuka Onyekwelu noted that Uzu Okagbue is not a regular politician, but someone who believes in using the instrumentality of state power to change the fortunes of the people. “Mr. Uzu Okagbue is an intellectual of a very fine quality, so his preparedness is not in doubt. As a person, he is driven by a strong desire to serve almost unnoticed, and anyone who has come close to him can attest that he is a man of insurmountable depths of conviction. He believes it is time to serve the people of Anambra Central differently and for us, we cannot be bystanders in such a noble project”, Onyekwelu said.
Speaking on Uzu’s chances of securing APGA ticket ahead of contenders like Chief Victor Umeh and Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, Onyekwelu assured that APGA will throw the contest open so that the best will emerge. According to Ebuka Onyekwelu, “I am convinced that APGA will do the right thing. There will be a level playing ground for aspirants and I believe, and can assure you that the people want something different and Uzu is a complete representation of what the people want. By and large, it’s a collective project and I am confident that the people will speak and APGA will hear. From there, we are hopeful that the people will again speak, on the General Election”.
In the meantime, plans have been concluded by Uzu Campaign to commence ward tour and massive outreach, which the campaign likens to a movement, throughout Anambra Central senatorial district.
