A source within the camp of the five disgruntled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors has identified the source of the party’s issue.
According to the source, the arrogance of the main opposition party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, is to blame for the party’s problems.
According to the insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, “Ayu’s hubris, political miscalculations, and immaturity are to blame for our party’s seemingly intractable crisis.”

According to the source, the G-5 governors are preparing for the next round of the party’s war.
According to the insider, Ayu and his allies are living in denial even as opposition to his reign and calls to remove him from office intensify.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his allies have been calling for the resignation of Ayu due to northern dominance in key positions in the party.
The source said, “Ayu at the moment is not having it easy with at least, seven of our party’s 13 governors including the governor of his home state, Benue, Samuel Ortom, who championed his emergence as the national chairman.
“The governors of Bauchi and Akwa-Ibom states, like their five openly aggrieved colleagues have not been forthcoming in terms of logistics support for obvious reasons.”

According to the source, Ortom attempted to organise a peace conference between the party’s presidential nominee, Atiku, and the Tiv nation, but Ayu deceived Atiku into thwarting a peace meeting between the presidential candidate and the Tiv traditional council.
According to the source, Ortom scheduled the meeting to facilitate political understanding in the state.
The source added, “You see, Ayu has the privilege of having his own state governor, Ortom, among the five aggrieved governors. He ought to have through Ortom, met with the aggrieved governors and explained issues with the aim of sorting things out. But he abused all those opportunities.”
According to reports, Ayu tricked Atiku’s wife, Titi Abubakar, into believing that Ortom was plotting to derail her husband’s presidential bid.
This, it was discovered, had a negative impact on the plan that had been put in place.

The traditional council of Tiv land, led by the Tor Tiv, wields considerable power in TV politics.
According to a party source, Ayu’s desire to always have his way was impeding peace attempts “since he arrogates to himself all information about the party.”
