Two security guards, Edward Yusuf and Michael Dimda, were charged by the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday in an Ajah Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N2 million and wrecking a sport utility vehicle.
A two-count conspiracy, vandalism, and theft case has been presented against Yusuf and Dimda.
Inspector Chinedu Njoku, the police prosecutor, testified before the court that the offenders planned the crimes with others who are still at large.
He said that sometime in July 2023, the incident happened in House 2, 34V 1, Estate Orchid Road Ikota, in the state’s Ajah region.
Osuji further told the court that the defendants stole the said money after they vandalised a Land Cruiser Prado Jeep and stole parts of the vehicle, property of one Hilary Ajuebon.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants committed the offence between 6pm and 6am.
