A nocturnal fire at the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) transmission station has left portions of Awka, the Anambra State capital, in the dark.
The impacted districts, which include the Anambra State government house, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and a number of other locations, will almost certainly celebrate Easter in the dark.
Mr Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, revealed this in a press statement emailed to our correspondent.
