Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s adviser Femi Adesina said that in 2015, former Senate President Bukola Saraki plotted to take over as head of the National Assembly.
Saraki allegedly conspired with former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, according to Adesina.
He stated that because the majority of All Progressives Congress (APC) senators were against him, Saraki collaborated with PDP parliamentarians to obtain the required data.

In his book “Working with Buhari: Reflections Of A Special Adviser, Media And Publicity (2015 – 2023),” Adesina made this revelation.
But according to the former presidential spokesman, Buhari was not pleased with Saraki and Dogara taking the lead in the National Assembly.
Adesina wrote: “Unknown to the party leadership, Senator Bukola Saraki, a former Kwara State Governor, and Hon. Yakubu Dogara, from Bauchi State, had plotted to seize the leadership of the National Assembly.
“To get the necessary figures, Saraki was in league with the PDP, his former party, as a significant number of APC senators were not with him.

“The requisite constitutionally required number had been made up by renegade APC members and the PDP.”
