The EEDC (Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC) addresses power supply challenges as it alerts its customers about ongoing power supply challenges within its network. These issues stem from reduced power generation due to gas constraints affecting thermal generating companies in Anambra and other areas.
This drop in generation has resulted in a decrease in the daily megawatt hour (MWH) of energy allocated to distribution companies nationwide. Consequently, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), EEDC’s primary power source, has implemented system load-shedding to prevent system collapse.
EEDC Attributes Power Supply Disruption In Parts Of Its Network To Rainstorm
This situation has affected the quality of service provided to customers, as EEDC is dealing with very low energy allocation from TCN. As a result, load-shedding measures are being applied to ensure fair distribution of available power among customers.
As EEDC addresses Power Supply Challenges, it seeks understanding from its customers, stressing that they can only distribute what is allocated to them, and emphasizes that this challenge is not unique to EEDC but is a national issue. Despite the challenges, EEDC remains committed to improving services and hopes for a prompt resolution to restore normal distribution.
