At the 9th-Mile Corner location, Enugu State Governor Mr. Peter Mbah inaugurated a 120 million-liter per day water scheme, sending a strong message.
Mbah highlighted the benefits of the plan, which includes building 96 water galleries throughout Enugu for general accessibility and increasing daily capacity from 70 to 150 million litres.
Addressing earlier doubts, Governor Mbah said, “People in Enugu State have seen numerous failed attempts to address the issue of water shortage, so when we communicated this promise, it triggered disbelief.”

He gave people the assurance that families who were part of the pipeline network would now have access to water directly in their houses, while water galleries strategically positioned would allow others to do the same.
“Report anyone attempting to steal or vandalise water infrastructure so they could be brought to book,” Mbah demanded in a severe warning.
“Production will escalate to 200 million litres per day at the 9th-Mile Corner water scheme in a few months,” Governor Mbah said, outlining plans for greater output.
Mr. Felix Nnamani, the Commissioner for Water Resources, thanked Governor Mbah for keeping his 180-day commitment to provide water to the people of Enugu.
