In a significant move towards bolstering transparency and integrity within its operations, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) recently inaugurated an Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at its headquarters in Abuja. The ceremony, overseen by officials from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), underscored NDIC’s steadfast commitment to combatting corruption and promoting ethical practices.
Mr. Bello Hassan, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of NDIC, highlighted the corporation’s unwavering stance on zero tolerance for corruption. He emphasized that NDIC’s core values of teamwork, respect, fairness, integrity, professionalism, and passion serve as the bedrock for fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. Represented by Mr. Mustapha M. Ibrahim, the Executive Director of Operations, Hassan reiterated NDIC’s dedication to upholding these values and ensuring ethical conduct across all levels.

Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, Chairman of ICPC, commended NDIC’s management for their dedication and active collaboration in establishing and advancing the activities of the ACTU. He lauded the efficiency and diligence of the NDIC ACTU in fulfilling its mandate, which resulted in the corporation ranking first for two consecutive years on the annual ICPC Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard
