Farooq Kperogi, a contentious author and professor of journalism, asserts that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, may become Nigeria’s president in 2023.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the academic made this assertion in a tweet on his Twitter page on Friday.
Peter Obi might succeed President Muhammadu Buhari even if he doesn’t receive the majority of votes, according to Kperogi.

He claimed that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might be found ineligible, which would give Obi the advantage.
He asked his Twitter followers to wait for additional information, but he did not provide a justification for why the pair would be disqualified.
Kperogi wrote: “Peter Obi may become president in 2023 even if he doesn’t win the plurality of votes cast in the presidential election because Tinubu and Atiku, the two top contenders for the presidency, may be disqualified. Wait for the details in my Saturday column.”
