Femi Gbajabiamila, the immediate previous Speaker of the House of Representatives, has resigned his membership in the Green Chamber after 20 years.
It should be noted that President Bola Tinubu appointed Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff, yet the appointment letter was dated 14 June.

Gbajabiamila’s resignation was announced in a letter read aloud by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during plenary on Wednesday.
Gbajabiamila was originally elected in 2003 and served in the legislature for 20 years until resigning today, Wednesday.
