Federal legislators and their supporters peacefully marched through Port Harcourt’s streets to show support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who is currently facing many challenges.
Honourable Boma Goodhead, who represents Asari Toru/Akuku Toru in the House of Representatives, and Honourable Awaji-Inombek Abiante, who represents Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro, were present at the rally, which started at the well-known UTC crossroads.
Both MPs arrived early, according to reports from POLITICS NIGERIA, which attracted a growing number of fans holding signs and banners. Through yells and slogans, the protesters showed their support for the governor.

Many expressed concerns that because Fubara led independently and defied outside pressure, he was being unfairly targeted. Between Fubara and Governor Nyesom Wike, his predecessor, there is a tense relationship that is reflected in this show of unity.
Remarkably, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently had 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly leave to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Amidst the continuing events, some members of Fubara’s cabinet have also tendered their resignations.
