The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, labeling him a habitual complainer. Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that Obi consistently refuses to accept election results that do not favor him or his supported candidates.
This criticism followed Obi’s remarks on the recent Edo State governorship election, which declared Monday Okpebholo of the APC as the winner. Speaking in an interview on Arise TV, Morka dismissed Obi’s opinions, claiming they hold no relevance to the election’s outcome.
“Peter Obi is a serial complainer who won’t accept results when they don’t go his way. Since the 2023 presidential election, he has been in denial and now his new focus is the Edo State election,” Morka said. He further suggested that any concerns raised by Obi’s supporters, such as Olumide Akpata and Asue Ighodalo, should be taken to court, emphasizing that they are making unproven allegations without solid evidence.
Morka stressed that if dissatisfied, they should present concrete evidence in court rather than spreading unfounded accusations.
Following the announcement of the Edo election results, Peter Obi strongly criticized the process, calling it a “blatant example of state capture” that undermines Nigeria’s democratic values. He warned that the use of flawed methods in selecting leaders could have serious repercussions for the country, urging authorities to address these concerns to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.
