Who Is Afraid Of Nollywood In Nnewi?
Nollywood describes the Nigerian film industry, which is believed to have been pioneered by Igbo artistes in the early 2000s. It currently contributes a large chunk of Nigeria’s internally generated revenue and also arguably the world second largest film industry after Hollywood.
In Nnewi, anaedoonline.ng has observed that a lot of young Nnewi residents have taken a passion for the Nigerian film industry, especially the artistic ones, which was not so previously when every young Nnewi resident either goes to learn a trade or goes to school to be able to get a white-collar job after graduation.
MC Steve, a young comedian who was previously producing amateur comedy skits with a mobile phone has now evolved to shooting low budget films, which indicates growth in the film industry here in Nnewi.

“Nnewi Film Industry is an untapped Goldmine,” He said.
However, anaedoonline.ng has observed that a lot of nationally and globally recognized artists who are indigenous of nevi are yet to identify with the film industry in Nnewi.
Take for instance Mr Izu Ojukwu, who is arguably the best film director from the African Continent, specializes in making historical films, but is yet to make a historical film portraying Nnewi history or that of Eastern Nigeria.
Blossom Chukwujekwu an award-winning Nollywood actor who is recognized both nationally and globally, who is also an indigene of Nnewi yet to mentor upcoming actors in Nnewi.
The film industry in Nnewi is growing with a lot of promises, if investors will take the opportunity to invest in it, it will not only create job opportunities and reduce crime but also will be highly profitable.
Investment in the film industry in Nnewi will bring about an increase in revenue generated by the city, influx of tourist into the city and boost various forms of businesses in the city.
