On Tuesday, the Federal Government submitted a request to drop the guns possession allegation brought against Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s suspended governor.
In an oral motion to the federal high court in Ikoyi, Director of Public Prosecutions at the Federal Ministry of Justice Mohammed Bakodo Abubakar stated that the withdrawal was the outcome of additional investigations.
However, Abubakar revealed that 20 new counts of charges have been added to the case against Emefiele at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
