If Gareth Southgate departs his position as head coach of the national team after Euro 2024, the Football Association (FA) may consider hiring Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City.
The Daily Mail reports that Southgate appears set to resign after the competition.
Although his contract expires in 2024, it has not been ruled out that the 53-year-old will lead the Three Lions to the 2026 World Cup.

Guardiola is still a viable option for the FA, though.
The main obstacle would be his City contract, which is valid until 2025.
Mauricio Pochettino, Eddie Howe, and Graham Potter were all previously thought of as candidates for the position, although the first two are already employed by the Premier League.
