Daniel stated in an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday that he had no issue or serious disagreement with the incumbent governor.

The purported schism, according to the former governor, may have stemmed from the state’s last governorship race, which was hotly contested by Abidoun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Some people in the state have accused Daniel of not supporting Abiodun’s re-election attempt but instead backing Bola Tinubu to win the 2023 presidential election.
