Ahmadu Fintiri, Adamawa Governor, has revealed that 90% of the allocation of the state is spent on salaries.
The governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Maxwell Gidado, stated this at the opening of a three-day capacity building workshop for workers in Yola Wednesday.
Fintiri called for assistance from the private sector to reduce dependence on the government.

He lamented that out of N4.2 billion the state receives monthly from the federation account, a whooping sum of N3.7 billion is spent on civil servant salaries while the state is left with only N500 million.
He stated that the state’s internally generated revenue was not up to N1 billion.
