Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State cried when he presented his administration’s final budget to the state legislative assembly on Tuesday.
The proposed budget, dubbed the “Budget of Transition,” is valued at N288.63 billion.
It allocated 63.77 percent to capital spending and 36.23 percent to recurring services.
According to Masari, the budget is intended to complete ongoing projects and to launch other capital projects that can be completed within his administration’s tenure.

The projects cut across sectors of Education, Health, Water Resources, Agriculture, Environment, Roads and Infrastructural Development.
Masari’s tears came while explaining that in aggregate terms, the budget is lower than that of the 2022 revised budget by about N34 billion.
