On Tuesday night, gunmen assaulted a famous radio station, Wish FM 99.5, and the Atlantic Television Network in Ozuoba, in Rivers State’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, with explosive devices presumed to be dynamite and sporadic gunshots.
The incident, which occurred at 8:40 p.m., resulted in the damage of some equipment and property in the facility that housed two media outlets owned by Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives.
Igwe is also a strong supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Igwe verified the occurrence when called on Wednesday morning, saying, “What I am delighted about is that no life was lost.”
