The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a warning regarding planned attacks on religious and recreational facilities before and during the Eid Kabir celebrations.
The seizure of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from terrorists in combined operations by the DSS, the Nigerian Army, and the police, according to the DSS, validated the intended attack.
On Thursday, the Service’s spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, issued a statement to that effect.

“On its part, the DSS calls for vigilance before the Eid celebrations, more so because reports indicate plans to attack worship and recreational centres before and during the festivities. This is evident in the recovery of primed IEDs among the suspected terrorists,” it read in part.
Afunanya also urged operators and patrons of public places, including markets, malls, “to be watchful and report any suspicious movements and persons to the relevant security agencies.”
