Senator Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to investigate what Gov. Hope Uzodinma has been up to in Imo State.
Uzodinma’s government, according to Okorocha, has commenced the dismantling of roughly sixteen pedestrian bridges he built as governor across the State Capital, Owerri, and its surrounds.
“As we write, more of such bridges must have been pulled down by Governor Uzodinma’s caterpillars,” the ex-governor claimed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser (media) Sam Onwuemeodo in Owerri.

He said that the Imo administration seemed to take power and satisfaction from the agony and tears of Imo people as a result of its anti-people policies and acts, such as the demolition of pedestrian flyovers intended for them.
Okorocha went on to say that the pedestrian bridges have been in regular usage by the people of Imo State for more than eight years.
“The time has come for President Buhari and the APC leadership to investigate what Gov. Uzodinma and his cruel government have been up to in Imo,” he said.
“Gov. Uzodinma has been dismantling or rebranding Okorocha’s projects since he came on board under a very troubling circumstances, seeking to obliterate any evidence of Okorocha.”

“The government would fix potholes on roads that Okorocha built or constructed, rename them, and claim credit for them,” he claimed.
“On the same day that Okorocha attended a World Press Conference on his 2023 Presidential aspiration, the same administration supported a judicial lawsuit against him,” he continued.
When that failed, they returned and began demolishing Okorocha’s pedestrian bridges built with Imo people’s money.
“The governor has been using Okorocha to divert attention away from his absolute inability to provide leadership to the people of Imo.”

“Imo’s regime has lulled the state into a profound sleep. In the state, nothing is working. The government has sent task forces against the people of Imo. And the Governor appears unconcerned about the suffering of the people of Imo as a result of his administration.”
