Last weekend, on Father’s Day, Nnobi people in North America gathered in Newark, New Jersey, for their 2023 Convention. They raised approximately $60,000 during the event to help repair their general hospital and give health insurance to the elderly in their community.
The three-day event began with a meet-and-greet at the home of retired Professor Ferdinand Ofodile, one of their distinguished sons in America.
The world’s foremost plastic surgeon is the driving force behind the ongoing initiative to outfit Nnobi General Hospital and transform it into a center of excellence for more than primary healthcare services.

Prof. Ofodile’s Nnobi Diaspora Health Group USA has generated funding to equip the hospital with 24-hour electricity, water supply, medical equipment, and adequate living quarters for doctors and consultants.
The crew had completed many health missions in which they collaborated with Nnobi’s health centers to identify patients with chronic illnesses like as diabetes and high blood pressure, treat them, and register them for regular monitoring and ongoing assessment.
The Nnobi Union of North America (NUNA) will use the 2023 convention to gather funds to support and extend the general hospital’s ongoing efforts.
Speaking at the convention’s sideline, the hosting affiliate’s president, NUNA in tri-state, Rev. Father Cosmos Nzeabalu, said, “We are doing nothing new or unique. We are just following in the footsteps of our fathers who built schools, post office, levied themselves to provide electricity to the town and other amenities that the government provide in other parts of the country.”
