Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, has cautioned a netizen against making unguarded remarks after the netizen accused Usman Alkali Baba, the inspector general of police, of being corrupt.
The IGP might not be able to sprint, jog, squat, or bend in a crisis, a Twitter user with the handle @cryptonews commented on the image of the police chief that had been posted online.
The internet user also made mention to the IGP’s stomach, claiming that people with such body types are typically corrupt.

The netizen wrote on Twitter: “In an emergency situation, will he IGP be able to run 🏃♂️, jog, squart, bend?
“Anyways, I never see any corrupt person wey no get big belle.”
But in a prompt reply, Adejobi defended his superior and asked the Twitter user to back up his assertions. He asserted that Baba is honest and capable of diligently carrying out all of his official obligations.
The force PRO advised the Twitter user to retract the comment she had made about the IGP or to be prepared to defend it if the case went to court for cybercrime.
He wrote “I think you need to study the present police institution under the IGPs leadership before you draw a conclusion. Usman Alkali Baba is never a corrupt man, so withdraw your statement. Or if we take it up with you, do you, do you have proof?

“Maybe we should try and test the cybercrime Prohibition Act 2015 on someone here o. Also, he is fit to act as an IGP, and if you are more than 18 yr old, you should be able to know what is an IGP and his roles in policing, surely not to pursue or be jumping fences, still he does all as a leader. Be guided, guy.”
