69 unlawful commercial cars have been impounded by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
This move is consistent with Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister, who has been working to keep Abuja city safe and clean.
The vehicles were confiscated for a variety of violations, according to Abdul-Lateef Bello, Director of the FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS).
He pointed out that the exercise aims to get rid of citywide commercial vehicle operators who are operating illegally.

“These vehicles were apprehended by the FCT combined Security Task Force at various locations in the federal capital, Abuja, with the primary goal of enhancing the security of lives and property in the city,” he said.
Bello went into detail about the offences that led to the impoundment of these automobiles, which included, among other things, inappropriate parking, the use of subpar vehicles, breaking the rules regarding number plates, and suspicion of involvement in one-chance scams.
He stressed the FCT Administration’s unwavering dedication to maintaining the city free from all annoyances and disturbances.
Bello stated that the FCT Mobile Court, located on the DRTS grounds, will be used to prosecute the owners of the seized vehicles.
