Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, has accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, of using June 12 to “catch cruise.”
Sowore made the comment while referring to June 12 as National Opportunity Day.
On June 12, 1993, Obi confessed to working for the late Head of State, Sani Abacha.

Tweeting, Sowore wrote: “June 12 has now become “National Opportunists Day” A @peterobi who openly confessed that he worked for General Abacha clearing the Tin Can Island port while Abacha was busy assassinating June 12 protagonists is also using June 12 for cruise. Wonders shall not cease.”
The Nigerian government has designated June 12 as Democracy Day.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has shifted Democracy Day from May 29 to June 12 to commemorate the late MKO Abiola.
