Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed displeasure over what transpired at the resumed trial of his client on Wednesday.
Anaedoonline.ng reports that Kanu’s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor alongside other lawyers representing the IPOB leader staged a walk-out to protest the refusal of operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow members of his legal team into the court.
Kanu’s lawyers failed to attend the trial when it commenced over the refusal of security agents to allow Kanu’s lawyer from the USA, Bruce Fein, to gain access into the courtroom.

Earlier, Kanu, who was brought into the courtroom around 9:52 am, complained that security agents prevented some of his lawyers, particularly Bruce Fein from the United States access into the courtroom.
When asked by the judge, Justice Binta Nyako, if he would conduct his case in the absence of his lawyers, Kanu said no leading to his lawyers staging a walk-out.
A few minutes later, the presiding judge adjourned till January 19, 2022, the trial of the detained separatist leader for further hearing.
But in a tweet via his Twitter page on Wednesday, Ejimakor condemned the actions of the security operatives during the court case at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
He described the denial of Kanu’s lawyers into the courtroom and the adjournment of his client’s case till January 19, 2022, as a “travesty of justice”, adding that they will surely take urgent & decisive measures.

“I’m not happy. The world should not be happy. The Judge LOCKED out Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers & refused us entry into the courtroom. She then arbitrarily adjourned the case to January 19, 2022. This is a travesty of justice. We will surely take urgent & decisive measures,” Ejimakor wrote.
