The Kogi State House of Assembly has received condolences from the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria regarding the unfortunate fire incident that engulfed its complex last week.
This was stated in a press release that Abdul Burra, the spokesperson for forum chairman Abubakar Suleiman, signed and made available to journalists in Bauchi late Monday night.
Speakers express sympathy to the Kogi Assembly over the fire incident and call for an investigation, according to the statement.

According to Burra, in a sympathy message sent to the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, on Monday, the forum’s chairman, who is also the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, expressed shock over the incident.
“He called on relevant authorities to launch an investigation to unravel the cause of the fire disaster with a view to forestalling its recurrence and prosecuting any culprits who may have been responsible.
“While sending the sympathy of the Conference of Speakers, the Chairman prayed against reoccurrence of the unfortunate incident,” he stated.
