Umar Sadiq, a striker from Nigeria, has officially moved from La Liga team UD Almera to Real Sociedad in a contract costing €26 million plus add-ons and a 15% sell-on clause until the 2027–28 season.
On Thursday, Sociedad used their official social media account to publicly introduce the forward and present him with the No. 25 shirt.
Alexander Isak, who joined Newcastle for a club-record €70m, is replaced by the 25-year-old.
Sadiq was close to a move to Villarreal, but the deal eventually collapsed, allowing Sociedad to cash in on the Nigerian international.
The Nigerian striker netted two goals in three LaLiga games this season for newly promoted Almeria and is seen as a perfect replacement for Isak.
Sadiq Scheduled For Medical After Signing With Sociedad
Sadiq was instrumental in Almería’s promotion to LaLiga and scored 40 league goals in the last two years for them, with his 18 goals last season helping La Union finish as the Spanish Segunda champions.
Sadiq could make his Sociedad debut against Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
