Reports suggest that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have settled for technocrats, politicians, and top career public servants ahead of the announcement of his ministry nominations.
According to close supporters, the President may have finalized plans to build a government of national unity with an emphasis on competence, in which he would recruit technocrats and politicians from other political parties into his government and career public employees as cabinet members.
According to a close supporter of the president who talked to Saturday Sun, one of the names now being examined for the ministerial seat for Lagos State is that of one of the state’s immediate previous governors, Akinwunmi Ambode, who recently reconciled with Tinubu. According to the source, Tinubu is impressed that Ambode refused to abandon the APC even when the temptation was great.

According to the ally, who is a former governor, another name being suggested is the immediate-past Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola.
Ambode and Fashola are both former governors of Lagos State and are regarded as technocrats.
According to a source in Ogun State, there are significant signs that Gbenga Daniel, a former governor and currently serving senator, may be granted a ministerial job and thus retire from the Senate.
According to the Saturday Sun, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, chairman of the South West Agenda for Tinubu 2023, is being considered for a ministerial position in Ekiti State. Dr. Fayemi Kayode, the state’s immediate previous governor, is also being considered.
Andy Ubah, a former senator from Anambra State, is among those being evaluated in the South East. Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator Uche Ekwunife has also been mentioned.

David Umahi, the immediate-past governor of Ebonyi State who is currently in the Senate, has also been touted for a cabinet position. The name of the former governor’s brother, Austin Umahi, also came up.
According to credible sources, former Senator Francis Alimikhena, who was defeated by Tinubu’s ally, Adams Oshiomhole, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who worked for Tinubu in the last presidential election, have been penciled in for possible nomination into the President’s cabinet in Edo State.
In Rivers State, either the state’s immediate past governor, Nyesom Wike, or a former APC governorship candidate, Tony Cole, could make the list.
Tinubu is considering former governors Nasir El-Rufai, Abdullahi Ganduje, Sani Bello, and Simon Lalong for positions in the North.

Rabiu Kwakwanso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), is also expected to enter the cabinet as a minister, barring any last-minute changes. Prof Pat Utomi and former Anambra State PDP governorship candidate Valentine Ozigbo are being considered for cabinet positions in the Labour Party (LP).
