Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company, Ineos, has officially entered the race to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family.
“We have formally placed ourselves into the process,” an Ineos representative told the PA news agency (via the Independent).
In an announcement made in November, Manchester United stated that the club may potentially be sold.

According to the statement, the board was examining strategic alternatives such as fresh investments or a total sale of the club.
The Glazer family’s 18-year ownership of the Red Devils would come to an end with the proposed sale.
They could potentially seek funding rather than selling the Premier League giants outright.
