He firmly believes that Greenwood, who was just 20 years old at the time of the alleged incident, would have been treated differently if he were not black.

@dolawanle criticized those opposing Greenwood’s return to Manchester United, labeling them as either racists or illiterates who lack an understanding of legal principles. He argued that given the circumstances and the dropping of charges against Greenwood, it is unjust to label him guilty.

Mason Greenwood, the embattled star of Manchester United, has stated that he wants to continue playing football outside of Old Trafford, where his presence will not be a distraction.

After learning that he will be leaving Manchester United, the forward made this clear in a statement today.
He declared, “Manchester United, my family, and I worked together to come at today’s decision.

“I appreciate the club’s help ever since I joined at age seven. There will always be a United part of me.
Greenwood continued by saying that he is aware that his social media presence will be used to make judgments about him.

Recall that Greewood was arrested and arraigned in court last year on sexual assault and coercive behaviour charges against his girlfriend (now wife), Harriet Robson.
His statement further read, “I was brought up to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges.

“I am enormously grateful to my family and all my loved ones for their support, and it is now for me to repay the trust those around me have shown. I intend to be a better footballer, but most importantly a good father, a better person, and to use my talents in a positive way on and off the pitch.”

Mason Greenwood and Manchester United have mutually decided that after the internal investigation is over, he will no longer play for the team.

This information was released by the club on Monday in a statement that read, “Our procedure began in February 2023, following the dismissal of all charges against Mason.While compiling as much information and context as we could, we tried to keep in mind the wishes, rights, and viewpoint of the alleged victim as well as the club’s standards and values.As a result, we had to act delicately and carefully to gather information that was not already in the public domain, particularly from those who had firsthand experience with the case.

The club added that based on the evidence available to them, they have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged.

“That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for.

“All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United.
“It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome,” the statement added.
Recall that Greenwood was arrested and arraigned in court last year on sexual assault and coercive behaviour charges against his girlfriend (now wife), Harriet Robson.
The Crown Prosecution Services dropped the charges in early February.
The duo has since then welcomed their first baby.

More revelations have emerged on Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood following his arrest for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson.

Greenwood was suspended by the English Premier League club on Sunday after details of his crime surfaced on the internet.

United has since said the 20-year-old will not play for the club until further notice. The lad was subsequently arrested on Sunday by the police.

Manchester Police Arrests Man United’s Greenwood Over Assault On Girlfriend

Reports made available on Tuesday on the case revealed that Greenwood did not only assault Robson but had threatened to kill her.

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) on Tuesday said magistrates had granted a second extension to keep the player in custody until Wednesday for further questioning.

A force spokesman said inquiries were ongoing and a woman was being “offered specialist support”.

Anaedoonline.ng understands that Greenwood made his debut for Manchester United in March 2019 and in February 2021, signed a four-year deal with the club after rising through the ranks of the academy.

Manchester United had in a statement released on Sunday said the club “did not condone violence of any kind and had been made aware of the allegations but would make no further comment until facts have been established.”

Greenwood’s punishable actions have generated reactions from his fellow players, sports pundits, coaches and various stakeholders.

The player has also been removed from FIFA 22 by EA Sports. Greenwood no longer features on the popular football simulation gaming title in offline modes and has been removed from the United squad.

EA Sports has as well issued a statement confirming Greenwood’s suspension from the game, giving more details about which game modes he has been suspended from.

“Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft,” an EA Sports spokesperson had told Manchester Evening News.

England coach, Gareth Southgate confirmed this afternoon that both Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden home after breaching the team’s coronavirus guidelines.

On the young duo, Southgate continued: “It is a very serious situation and we have treated it that way.

“These are two boys I don’t know particularly well at the moment so can’t speak in great depth. I have got to try and speak with them later in the appropriate way.

Foden has a two-year-old son and a long-term girlfriend, while United star Greenwood broke up with his model girlfriend back in May.
