The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, recently emphasized the importance of seeking divine intervention during a meeting with a delegation from Jigawa State.
During a visit by Governor Malam Umar Namadi and his delegation from Jigawa State, Minister Mohammed Badaru urged Nigerians to continue their prayers for an end to the ongoing security challenges. Recognizing the complexity of the situation, he emphasized that seeking divine intervention through prayers was a natural response. Acknowledging the enormity of their task, both in terms of security challenges and national development, Minister Badaru expressed the government’s unwavering determination to overcome these obstacles.

Earlier, the Jigawa State governor who led traditional rulers, religious leaders, the business community, and public office holders from the state, said that the visit was to congratulate the minister and assure him of their support at all times. He stated: “ It is not only to say congratulations but also to pray for you. We know how you succeed as the governor of our state, We also pray for you to achieve the same or even more in this new task as the Minister of Defence.”
Governor Namadi, representing the Jigawa delegation, further emphasized the high expectations Nigerians have for the minister’s pivotal role in addressing the country’s security challenges. He stressed that success in this area would have a positive ripple effect across the entire nation. Furthermore, Governor Namadi expressed gratitude for the relative peace in Jigawa but emphasized that their state, like many others, still required assistance. His message highlighted the interconnectedness of the states and the need to stand united in overcoming common challenges.
