The suffering of Abba Kyari, the former chief of the IGP Intelligence Response Team, appears to be far from over, with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) filing a court motion to extend his detention.
The NDLEA is questioning the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, as well as four other police officers who were allegedly involved in narcotics trafficking.
Kyari, who was formerly referred to as a “super policeman” by Nigerians, has had his name dragged through the dirt in recent weeks owing to several claims leveled against him.

The NDLEA is requesting an extension of Kyari’s detention in order to investigate the assets he claims to have.
Anaedoonline.ng gathered that the agency gave the embattled police operatives an asset verification form to fill and wants to take their time to verify the properties he claimed to have.
In respect to his continued detention at the facility of the law enforcement agency, security has been tightened to ensure the suspects are broken out of detention.
The agency has hindered visitors from accessing the facility following an order from their boss, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa
