The Nigeria Labour Congress President, Joe Ajaero, has presented the National Assembly with a letter containing their requests.
The demands included repairing the four refineries, creating jobs, fully implementing the welfare measures, and providing farmers with an urgent financial boost to increase agricultural output.
On Tuesday, Ajaero gave the letter to Senator Diket Plang, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity.

Ajaero drew comparisons between Zimbabwe and Nigeria during his speech to the National Assembly, emphasising that the country’s pervasive hunger led to nonviolent protests by Nigerians.
He said that discussions had started about a minimum wage, but the exact figure was still up for debate.
He claimed that the protest will act as a warning to the FG to address the issues facing the nation right away.
Following receipt of the letter, Plang gave the demonstrators his word that the NLC’s requests would be taken into consideration and debated right away.
Tuesday marked the start of nationwide scheduled rallies by the NLC and other affiliated unions against the high cost of living, inflation, instability, and hardship in the nation.
