The planned demonstrations planned by members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for this Saturday have been prohibited by the police in Kano State.
The police command urged Kano people to show their patriotism by abstaining from all unlawful gatherings, protests, and processions in a press release released on Friday.
The statement underscored the possibility that these types of events could become violent within the state.
The public was given the assurance by the police that extensive security measures have been put in place to protect people and property during this time.

To keep the area peaceful and orderly, residents are asked to abide by the order and work with law authorities.
”Credible information at the Command’s disposal revealed that some groups of people claiming to be political party supporters of both NNPP and APC are using various media platforms, mobilizing people and planning to enter the streets on Saturday, November 25, 2023, to stage a protest against the Kano State Governorship Appeal Court’s verdict.
”The information further revealed that the intention of the protesters is to shut down the state and attack prominent political party opponents, an action that may likely result in violence,” the statement noted.
