One person was killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Imo State, believed to be militants from the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the gunmen, who numbered around 20, drove two SUVs—a blue Lexus and an ash-colored Highlander—to carry out their operations.
The gunmen attacked the INEC headquarters at the Ahiazu Local Government Secretariat dressed in ESN garb in pursuit of workers handing out Permanent Voter Cards, or PVCs.

The deceased guard’s body has been placed in the mortuary.
When our correspondent phoned Henry Okoye, the Imo Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, he stated that he had not yet returned to work but sought to speak with Mike Abatam, the previous PPRO, who declined to comment on the situation.
