The Coalition of Northern Groups has denounced the attack on a livestock market in Omumauzor, Ukwa West Local Government Area, Abia State (CNG).
According to Anaedoonline.ng, unknown gunmen attacked the freshly erected market on Tuesday, killing eight people.
The Coalition of Northern Groups, in response to the terrible tragedy, called the Abia state administration, led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators as soon as possible.

The CNG declared in a statement released on Wednesday by its Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, that the North would no longer remain mute about recent atrocities on its people in the South-East or elsewhere.
The organisations also stated that the area will stand up to any abuse or mistreatment of Northerners living in the country’s southern regions.
“We have carefully analyzed the emerging circumstances with tremendous moderation and maturity, to the point of approving and accepting some outrageous and reprehensible behaviors performed against northerners in especially in the South East,” he stated.
“The current incident in Abia has brought things to a stage where inactivity is no longer an option in the face of unwarranted evictions, attacks, and deaths of northerners in many regions of the South East.”
