Prince Obianaefo Charles Orizu was born on November 29, 1965. He is the first child of Igwe Kenneth Onyeneke Orizu (III), the 20th Obi of Otolo and Igwe of Nnewi, who serves as the Traditional Ruler and Spiritual Leader of Nnewi.
The heir apparent to the Nnewi throne, Barr. Charles, holds a diploma in international commercial arbitration and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. He graduated with a B.L. (HONS) in law from Nigeria Law School, Abuja, and an L.L.M. from the University of Jos.
Additionally, he earned an MPA/B.A. (History) from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife and an L.L.B. (HONS) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka.
Nnewi: ‘Edo’ Enriches Both Indigenous And Inhabitants – Crown-Prince Obi Orizu
From 2000 to 2003, Prince Obianaefo was an associate with Orizu and Associates. He currently holds the positions of President of the Igwe Nnewi Arbitration Panel, Chairman of Orizu Petroleum Limited, Chairman of Royal Falls Park and Resort Limited, and Principal Partner of Obi Orizu and Co. He serves as the Igwe Nnewi’s principal secretary as well.
He belongs to the Chartered Mediators and Conciliators as a fellow. He is a fellow of the International Bar Association, Pan African Lawyer Union, Nigerian Bar Association, and Nigerian Institute of Management. He is a member of the Pentecost University board of trustees, a member of the NBA Annual General Conference 2014 organising committee, and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He is the charter president of the Rotary Club of Nnewi Urban, a patron of the Nnewi Sports Club in Nnewi, and an honorary old student of the Hope Waddle Training Institute in Calabar.
Osu System a Thing of The Past In Nnewi – Crown-Prince Obi Orizu
In an effort to improve the education quality and standard in Nnewi, Prince Charles refurbished eight classrooms in a U-shape at St. Michael Church in Inyaba Umudim, Nnewi, four classrooms at Nnewichi Central School, four classrooms at Edoji Primary School, Uruagu Nnewi, and five classrooms at Nnewi High School. He constructed and gave to Nigeria Science and Technical College two new dorms and a dining hall; to Hope Waddle College in Calabar, Cross River State, a Nnewi School Clinic; to Nnewi High School in Nnewi, a contemporary school gate and paved entry; and to a widow, a brand-new three-bedroom home. Every year, he grants scholarships to St. Christopher’s Primary School in Nnewi and Obiofia Community Primary School.
He was elected to serve as a Director for the past two years at Cutix Cables Plc, a top cable manufacturing company in Nigeria.
