In memory of twenty years (20) years remembrance of the death of popular Nnewi-born businessman, Mazi E. C Egwudo, his son, Onyeaka Egwudo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bohr Energy, has distributed food items to his kinsmen.
Speaking to Anaedoonline.ng during the distribution of the food items on Saturday, 31st October, 2020, at Egwudo’s residence in Akamili Umudim Nnewi, Mr. Onyeka Egwudo said that the distribution of the 50kg bags of rice to Sixty-five (65) families, was only a preparation to the celebration and remembrance of the twenty (20) years death of their father.
According to him, the family planned series of event in remembrance of their father, but due to Covid-19 pandemic and social unrest occasioned by EndSars protest, the family has postponed the memorial event till 2021.
He said that although the family has postponed the event, in his capacity, he decided to gather his kinsmen to share 50kg bags of rice to Sixty-five (65) families.
While speaking, Onyeka Egwudo (Bohr Energy) noted that the bags of rice being distributed will also help in ameliorating the suffering in most families occasioned by economic hardship being experienced.
Asked if his action was political, he said that he is not into partisan politics and do not have any intention of joining, noting that he is focussed in his business.
Describing his late father was a hero, patriot, an accomplished businessman, he noted that although his father died at a young age, his father helped to build many families through his charity and also contributed to the development of Nnewi.
Speaking separately, the mother of Onyeka Egwudo, Mrs Blessing Egwudo, and his elder brother, Mr. Obinna Egwudo commended the kind gesture of Onyeka, nothing that is worth emulation.

According to Obinna Egwudo, even though the family decided to postpone their father’s memorial next year, Onyeka insisted that this year will not end without putting smile people’s faces in preparation of the main event.
The 50kg bags of rice was shared to Umuezebolu village which is made up of three (3) families which include; Dim Onyeudo family, Ezeudu family and Ezra family.
