According to Adamu Garba, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Orji Uzo Kalu, the former governor of Abia State, has little chance of winning the 10th senate presidency seat.
Garba asserted that due to the Southeast’s poor performance, Kalu would eventually withdraw from the campaign for senate president.
According to Newsmen, the South-South was designated for the position by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee, with Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State and Barau Jubrin of Kano State being selected for Senate presidency and deputy, respectively.

However, other people have claimed that Kalu is the finest candidate and that the seat should be assigned to the Southeast.
In response to the circumstance, Garba stated that the Chief Whip’s region had failed to provide the ruling party during an appearance on Arise TV.
He said, “I am hundred percent confident that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu will withdraw from the race for the senate presidency.
“He is qualified but the performance from the South-east is considerably very low. He should find a way to organize the South-east so that they can mainstream with the APC strongly”.
