A noteworthy political development occurred over the weekend when a sizable portion of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State made the decision to switch to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
One prominent defector was Karibo Wilson, a former contender for the Ahoada West House of Assembly seat, who justified his choice by saying he was acting in the best interests of the “people.”
This wave of defections comes after 27 PDP lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly recently defected to the APC.
