On Thursday afternoon, gunmen killed three police officers at a checkpoint in Enugu State, causing palpable anxiety in the Enugu city.
The incident occurred at a police checkpoint at Ulumalinda Estate in the Maryland neighborhood of the Enugu South Local Government Area of the state about 1:20 p.m.
After the operation, the gunmen were alleged to have kidnapped a lady on the side of the road, which lasted around 30 minutes without being challenged, according to eyewitnesses.

According to an eyewitness, the hoodlums robbed a POS mobile money operator after a stray gunshot struck her.
When called, Daniel Ndukwe, a police public relations officer, verified the occurrence but did not offer any details.
“Details are hazy, but a manhunt has been initiated for the assailants,” he simply stated.
