The Lagos State Government has declined to address the Nigeria Labour Congress protesters.
The NLC organized the rally to show solidarity with the unions in tertiary institutions who are still on strike.
Lagos State Chairman of NLC, Mrs. Agnes Sessy, said, “We are waiting for Mr. Governor. This letter must be delivered today. We are waiting for him or his representative to collect our letter. We will wait.”
Members of NLC arrived at the Ikeja Under Bridge and marched peacefully to the Lagos State Governor’s office.
The protesters arrived at the gate of the Lagos State House, Ikeja at 11.40am, and as of press time, no official of the Lagos State government had addressed the protesters.
